Where: Delaware County SPCA, 555 Sandy Bank Rd., Media, PA

When: Every Wednesday from 12-4 p.m. (By appointment only.)

Who: All services performed by our very own Dr. Kimberly Boudwin, VMD, graduate of the school of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania, member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the Pennsylvania Veterinary Association, and a USDA accredited vet.

What: Low-cost services provided at a fraction of the price of local veterinary offices, including:

Wellness exam (required) – $25.00

Vaccines – $12.00 each

Heartworm test – $20.00

Heartworm preventative – Price varies by pet’s weight

Flea/tick preventative – $12.00-$16.00 based on pet’s weight

Deworming – $7.00

Lyme test – $20.00

FIV/FeLV test – $20.00

Microchip – $35.00

Blood work – $80.00

We hit an all-time high of 271 adoptions in July

Thanks to the community opening their hearts and homes, we hit an all-time adoptions high of 271, an 11% increase from 2009. Click on the picture of this happy adopter, who brought the cat she’s holding in as a stray and returned a week later to adopt it, for an article with more information about our record-breaking month.

Our vet staff did 260 surgeries in July!

Our awesome, fantastic, we-are-so-honored-to-have-them vet staff of three accredited veterinarians and some out-of-this world vet techs broke their own record in July with a whopping 260 surgeries. We’re excited to see how many surgeries they can pull off this month!

While we are not yet offering vet services to the general public, we welcome our volunteers, fosters and adopters to take advantage of our vet services at extremely discounted rates. For more information or to make an appointment, call the front desk at 610-566-1370.

Join us at our facility at 555 Sandy Bank Road, in Media, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. for low-cost vaccinations and microchips for your pets, performed by our accredited staff veterinarians.

Dr. Bonnie is a veterinarian who created Boutique Fancy Fluff out of her clients’ questions and concerns about their animals’ products as well experiences she had working in the University of Pennsylvania Animal Intensive Care Unit. Dr. Bonnie found that most owners were not aware of the potential risks of products before and after the time of purchase. Each item in her virtual boutique is hand-selected by a veterinarian for being either healthier for pets, higher-quality products for pets, more Earth-friendly and/or helping enhance the human-animal bond. Dr. Bonnie is partnering with the Delaware County SPCA in giving a certain percentage of proceeds of certain items to us in order to care for the needy animals in our shelter. Harold and Poppy are famous! Along with two very famous small dogs, Justina Calgiano, our Director of Community Relations, and Jamie Nebroak, our Director of Training and Education, made a visit to CBS studios in Philadelphia to film annual doggie fashion show Buzzy’s Bow Wow Meow on “Talk Philly,” a daily Philadelphia-area talk show with local broadcaster celebrity and animal advocate Carol Erickson hosting.
