SPCA SHOWS OFF IMPROVEMENTS

It’s half-past seven at the Delaware County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals and Assistant Bookkeeper Cheryl Buley is collecting her things to go home for the night — her purse, her jacket and last but not least, Katie, a 4-month-old pit bull brought to the shelter Nov. 4. (See slideshow at end of story)

“She was found in a garage in Upper Darby. She was not able to walk,” said Buley, who is the puppy’s foster mother.

She is already a foster parent to a kitten, as well as the owner of two cats and two dogs, not to mention the mother of two children.

Meanwhile, Elizabeth Anderson, the Upper Providence shelter’s attorney and acting humane officer, is homebound with Henry, a 9- or 10-year-old dark Labrador mix she adopted from another humane society.
