Delaware County SPCA celebrates 99 years of serving the community with the support of local celebrity Heidi Hamels

Media, Pennsylvania — For 99 years, the Delaware County SPCA has been saving the lives of homeless animals all over the county. On Wednesday, June 2, the Delaware County SPCA celebrated this milestone at the Garrett Williamson Foundation in Newtown Square.

“I am thrilled to support the work of our local SPCA,” said Delaware County resident and local celebrity Heidi Hamels. “Being an animal advocate myself, I truly understand the importance of their presence in our community,” Hamels said.

Four local community leaders who have lent their efforts for animal advocacy were honored at the celebration: State Representative Bill Adolph of Springfield, State Representative Tom Killion of Middletown Township and State Representative Greg Vitali of Haverford. Frank McKee, President of the McKee Group in Springfield, was honored with a business leadership award. Humane Society of the United States president Wayne Pacelle gave out the awards.

The celebration had cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, music, dancing and a silent auction. All proceeds benefited the homeless animals available for adoption at the Delaware County SPCA.
